JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Vin Fitzgerald Memorial Award
This award is presented annually to recognise the junior boy and girl who has contributed best to competition play, active participation in club events and exhibits good sportsmanship.
The Award is a legacy to Vin Fitzgerald for the contribution and commitment he made to the Club for many years. Vin was one of the founding members of the South Bendigo Tennis Club who worked to build the facility at Neale Street and to build the tennis playing community it accommodated. He was the first to hold the position of President at the club and became a life member in 1960. Vin was passionate about his tennis and also enjoyed the social aspects that bringing tennis players together created. His desire to develop tennis and the tennis playing community; encouraging families, adults and children to partake in the sport, was at the core of his association with the club.
The Club commenced this award in memory of Vin after his passing in 2005.
The winners each year receive a memento and have their names inscribed on the Honour Board.

Mikayla Hill
Mikayla is a talented and dedicated junior member of the club, who has actively participated in competitions and club events for many years. She comes from good tennis pedigree and has had good results this season in the Section A1 Junior Comp. This award has special significance to Mikayla and her family, with Vin being her Great Grandfather. We're sure he'd be very proud!
Machlan Kelly
Mach also comes from a strong tennis playing family; he competed in the Section A2 junior competition with younger brother, Dehkeal on a Friday night this season, and is proud to follow in his big sister, Tanika's footsteps after she won the Vin Fitzgerald girl's award last year. Mach brings a great attitude and energy to the club and is a very deserving winner of this year's trophy.
